Mother Mary Clare, Handmaids of the Heart of Jesus
The community is engaged in the New Evangeliation through their charism of spiritual motherhood; to live in imitation of Mary as spiritual mothers in the parish family. Mother served in ministry on college campuses before beginning work at the Vocation office in the Archdiocese of Minneapolis-St. Paul. Mother says fulfilling your vocation is “seeking the Lord”, and he calls us to be committed. She encourages a visit to a “Come & See” and to take a season of discernment. Mother says she was at Mass when she heard the Lord speak to her at the seminary when “a flood of grace came into my heart…I knew he wanted a new community of religious women living in imitation of Mary as spiritual mothers in compliment to diocesan priests.”
Sr. Joseph Andrew Bogdonavich, Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist
She is one of four foundresses of the religious community and its Vocation Director. She says lots of prayer and discernment and a movement of the holy spirit that led to the founding of the order. Sr. Joseph Andrew says if we want more priests we need more sisters because they are the ones who inspire men to be open to a priestly vocation.
