Fr. Seamus Griesbach, Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Portland in Maine was our guest on this program.  Father details his vocation journey. He grew up in a small Maine community. He says Mass became more important in his teen and young adult years, what he describes as the beginnings of his discernment. It was in college that “the idea of the priesthood kept coming up…and God was not letting the question go away.” He learned to trust and allow the Lord to watch over him.

It was at World Youth Day in 2002 that he clearly heard Pope St. John Paul II say, “do not be afraid.”
Fr. Seamus encouraged men saying, “In God’s providence, you have to trust and do your best to pray, to live a virtuous life, and he will lead you down the right path.”

Fr. Seamus says priests come from ordinary families and that’s where God can be at work in helping a man find God’s will.
