Fr. Patrick Mary Russell, MFVA, was born in Cocoa Beach, FL and is the oldest of eight children. Due to his father’s career in the military, his family moved around a bit and lived in various places. After experiencing the call to the priesthood as a college student, he entered the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word in 2002 and studied at Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD. Having been ordained to the priesthood in 2012, he was first assigned at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, AL and also served as Vocation Director for his community. He currently resides in Emmitsburg, MD and is assigned as the Director of Priestly Formation for the MFVA seminarians and is the chaplain for the employees who work out of the EWTN News Office and Studio in Washington, DC.
