Vocation Boom! Radio celebrated the Feast of St. Alphonsus Liguori by highlighting the congregation that he founded, the Redemptorists. Fr. Matt Allman, Vocation Director and Director of Provincial Archives for the Redemptorists’ Baltimore Province was our guest.

Fr. Matt says he followed the footsteps of his father who had spent time in seminary; a family environment that made it easy to discuss the priesthood as a vocation option. He encouraged parents to support their son and other men by “leading an active, practicing and positive life and giving witness to the joy in your vocation to follow God where he wants you to go.” He said there is no more joy as a priest than to show others God’s mercy. Fr. Allman suggested that discerning men “open their heart to what God is calling them to…to not let anything stand in the way of it.”
"For me, it is a great joy to be together with priests." -Pope Benedict XVI
