Fr. David Cartwright, Vocation Director of the Archdiocese of Melbourne in Australia, first considered the priesthood when it was recommended to him by his teachers in primary school, but worked and went to school for many years, finally entering the seminary when he discerned that “something wasn’t right” with his life. It was finally through prayer before the Blessed Sacrament that a vocation to the priesthood became more real. Fr. Cartwright is an an ardent supporter of vocations, saying that as a priest there is more work to do and more souls to save.

"You are priests, not social or political leaders." -St. John Paul II
