Fr. Alex Zenthoefer is a native of Evansville, Indiana. Sacred Heart in Evansville is his home parish and he graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1997. He attended St. John Vianney College Seminary on the campus of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Catholic Studies. After graduating in 2001, he attended Saint Meinrad School of Theology in Southern Indiana. He received a Master’s in Catholic Life and Thought and a Master’s of Divinity. He has completed his work on a Doctorate of Ministry Degree in preaching through Aquinas Institute of Theology and will be awarded this degree in May of 2015. Fr. Alex was ordained in 2005 and was assigned as Associate Pastor of St. Theresa and St. Joseph in the city of Evansville. He served for over four years as Associate Pastor of Holy Rosary Parish in Evansville. In June of 2012 he was assigned as Pastor of Christ the King Parish and now also serves as chaplain of Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville. In June of 2013 he was named Pastor of Holy Spirit Parish in addition to his other duties. He led Christ the King and Holy Spirit Parishes through a merging process and is now Pastor of Annunciation Parish, which encompasses these two campuses. He is the chaplain for the Lay Ecclesial Movement Communion and Liberation and is the Vocation Director for the Diocese of Evansville.
